Welcome to crazy town, population: Carlene. It's been one photoshoot on top of another here before we hit Thanksgiving. In fact, I feel like I've had three Thanksgivings already with these shoots! So much sage. So much poultry. But everything is b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. I don't think I've had to think of so many ways to style the same food before. Here's what I've been up to the past few days and a few fun things:
Last week I had a day of corporate wellness before zipping over to Middleburg to talk with my Middleburg Events Studio ladies and plotting for the holidays (and even a few classes I'll be teaching, stay tuned!). After a quick meeting we went to Salamander Resort, the gorgeous luxury estate hotel that opened recently. Their spa invited us for an evening with Caudalíe's founder. This entire French skincare line is based on the power of FOOD! Specifically grapes actually and resveratrol. Of course, I was fascinated. And the champagne certainly helped. Side note: the premier cru product is a dream! I've been using it a few days and I'm obsessed. Thankfully it helped after staying up with my wonderful, wonderful husband until 1 AM to prep food for the next photo shoot day! Have I mentioned how he's the best? He is.
Friday was a Thanksgiving photoshoot with my office mate Abby Jiu for District Weddings. You guessed it, more poultry! Stay tuned for the shoot soon!
Saturday my lovely friend Lindsay from Shrimp Salad Circus invited me to her calligraphy class! My Mom is a calligrapher but you know how it goes: It's so much easier to learn something from someone not in your family. I'm not a patient girl so since it's my Mamma, you know I get a little sassy instead of learning. Love you Mom, thanks for always doing my calligraphy for projects! Lindsay was wonderful and she'll be hosting more calligraphy classes in 2015!
Lastly, make sure you check out my BRIDES feature where I talk about how to avoid post wedding weight gain and stop over to Swooned to get the recipe for this clean cocktail.
On to the next photoshoot! I'm up to my elbows in winter produce!
Dietitian Nutritionist. My husband Chris and I create food and beverage photos, videos, stopmotions and recipes. And they're really cool.
