Today's the day! I'll be half working and half celebrating my 25th birthday today while enjoying the aroma of a desk full of peonies and food related birthday cards. While we technically celebrated my birthday in Charlottesville this weekend, I feel like 25 is entitled to basically a multi-day celebration. Celebration for me is always food-centric and since at brunch you can have both fish and alcohol, this is what Sunday brunch celebration looked like: bagels and lox (I prefer my salmon baked and flaked with neufchâtel cheese), prosecco mimosas, berries, peonies and of course a big Chemex of coffee.

Sunday afternoon we took the dog to Grandma and Grandpa's for a good Virginia countryside walk and lunch on the deck. Lots of crab and white wine with a big strawberry pie for dessert! 

In terms of gifts, the husband and I have a hard time waiting to give each other things on a specific day, so for the past few weeks I've been enjoying my favorite Everlane v-neck tshirts, Essie, macarons, Jack Purcells, some new brass house numbers (designer approved), crackable geodes and the like. I also was just surprised with the news that the husband is on the hunt (or will build) some outdoor lounge chairs for our patio which currently houses a stylish (but backless) beirgarten table and benches! This is basically the best gift I could receive since sitting outside and working or reading is my favorite thing to do ever and a little back support is a welcome addition.
