Weekend Update: Food Styling Wedding Shoot and Garden to Table Dinner
Happy Monday! This weekend was a busy one! Between food styling for Orchestrated Shoots (styled wedding shoot) at Oatlands Plantation, a garden to table dinner at the house of Chef Jakubiec and then Middleburg Events Studio's mimosa and bloody mary bar for Loudoun Weddings weekend, I'm ready for another weekend. I strongly believe in three day weekends all the time. Can we make that a thing?
Here are a few quick sneak peeks from the Orchestrated Shoot project at Oatlands Plantation here in Leesburg. I got to work with one of my favorite people, Holly Chapple (who of course did that amazing vegetable bouquet for my wedding), as well as a few other creatives to pull together a big styled faux wedding. I got to play with lots of beautiful fall food for the menu I created. It can be really tricky to make meat like the chickens I made, look good on set for long periods, but luckily it was COLD outside so everything stayed bright and fresh looking!
The greenhouse, nice and cozy thank goodness, was where I did a lot of my prep work. This is actually the second oldest greenhouse in the US! And I suppose I should mention the plantation house....There are several big old homes like this all over Northern Virginia and it always makes me realize how lucky I am to live among them when we have out of towners come and see them. They're beautiful, well preserved and amazing.
A little bitty peek of some amazing Holly Chapple flowers. You will just die when you see the big, big project she did for the ceremony spot. I'll be sure to share the full images once they're processed!
Right after I finished food styling I ran home to get a few things done and get ready for an amazing invite I had to a garden to table supper club hosted by Wit Weddings and Chef Chris Jakubiec. Chef Jakubiec was the chef at the Jefferson hotel in DC but is now helping people understand the beauty and importance of home gardens in the food we eat together. Farm to table is so distant. Farms exist somewhere else but anyone can garden. It's realistic and exciting. And I'll tell you more about how you may be able to score an exclusive invite to the next supper club in Northern Virginia when I get my hands on the gorgeous images from the night!
Wishing you a wonderful start to the week! On to prep for the next photoshoot on Friday!
