How To Make Green Juice In A Blender Without A Juicer
I love green juice. I don't have a juicer. Problem? Nah. In my constant effort to minimize the excess in my kitchen ( you would not believe how many unitaskers exist) and use what I have, I figured there had to be a way to make my beloved green juice....in a blender. And because I've done it before with beet carrot juice, you guys had a special request for a green juice in a blender. Thusly...I have provided and improved it! Enjoy!
Let me also just say: this is not the place for you to discuss how much better YOUR juicer is or how all juice has to be cold pressed or whatever. Any way people are interested in eating greens is solid with me.
green juice without a juicer
makes enough for 3-4 servings
/// Ingredients ///
- 2 gala or fuji apples (something tart, crisp and sweet)
- 4 inches of peeled English cucumber
- 1 lemon
- 1 half inch of ginger (more or less depending on your ginger tolerance)
- 3-4 big handfuls of kale (stem removed)
/// Directions //// Prepare ingredients, cutting into chunks. Your goal is to remove any obstacle to the blender powering through the product as it should. Note I am using a very high powered blender (Vitamix)! Add apples, cucumber, lemon and ginger to the blender. Turn on low and begin to process. Once you feel it's processed as much as it can, add 1 cup of water. Blend again until smooth. Add in kale and process. In a bowl or large glass measuring cup, place a nut milk bag. Pour in batches of puree lift nut milk bag and allow juice to drain into the container. Squeeze the nut milk bag with your hands to leave pulp behind. Throw away or compost the pulp. Or make these chips.
I like to keep my juice in these to go containers so I can grab it on the way out!
