It’s the holiday season and chances are you have almost, or have already been duped into hosting some kind of dinner at your house. It tends to happen over the years. Somehow, your home is now the best central location, or you have an actual dining room, or parking. Or in some cases you are the one who actually has a functional kitchen (Listen- we all know people who don’t cook! If you want to Carrie Bradshaw your oven to hold sweaters, be my guest).
We’ve run the gamut of emotions about having people over from “we are renovating and literally no one can come over because it’s not perfect” to “eh f*** it, we are in pajamas and there’s an air compressor in the dining room, but sure stop by”. Inevitably, no situation is going to be perfect, so you might as well ride the wave.
