Whole Wheat Winter Citrus Coconut Waffles
Whole wheat waffles with shredded coconut, topped with winter citrus and honey.
Listen. We could debate about team waffle vs team pancake all day but since I’m the one writing, we’ll start and end this by saying team waffle is the correct response. Over on Inspired Home, I’m sharing a new waffle recipe for winter citrus and coconut waffles . The recipe uses our favorite whole wheat waffle base we use for our spring strawberry rose waffles . I threw in some shredded coconut this time and topped it all off with honey, citrus, sesame seeds and yogurt.
If you’re in the market for a waffle maker, I highly recommend the All Clad model I use in this article with Inspired Home. It’s easy to clean, gets VERY HOT so the waffles actually get crisp and don’t stick. And it’s compact! Our old waffle maker was rickety (it was a gravity based one where you flip the handle to rotate the entire iron), uneven cooking and in general….garbage.
And even if you’re not up for making the base waffle, throw in some coconut to your favorite waffle mix and use our topping recommendations. I may love recipes that use grams sometimes, but I’m not unrealistic. You use that pre-mixed stuff and enjoy it!
