Ask The Dietitian: Pandemic Edition
After 8+ months of the ongoing pandemic, I’m answering three dietitian questions you have on sustainability and sanitization, cooking at home, and healthy but realistic eating.
“I still want to make sustainable choices in my grocery shopping, but how do I make sure my reusable bags and groceries are clean and sanitized?”
“I’m cooking a lot at home still and my family still likes basic meat entrees instead of plant-based dinners. When I cook meat, how do I make sure my dish is healthier?"
“I’m overwhelmed with making sure everyone is fed healthy meals and snacks, especially with working from home and limited outings. Lately, I've been lenient, allowing lots of more 'junk foods'. How can I get my family involved but make sure options are nutritious?
*Side Note Highlight: I am in LOVE with this automatic trash can. I know that sounds crazy, but it’s perfect if you have someone in your home who is doing in-person work/school/meetings and you want them to touch as few things as possible upon entering the home. Put this in your mudroom or powder room for an auto open and seal without touching bag. I will say though, I actually use it for cat litter and it’s a million times better than a litter genie. To be honest, I fully intend to get a second one for the nursery.
