Food Network Feature: Indoor Picnic Ideas for Summer
The Fourth of July is next week. What are you eating? Inquiring minds need to know. As much as I love a wide variety of cuisines, I really do crave some good 'ol Americana happenings in summer. Deviled eggs, fried chicken, pie, potato salad, any summer produce and you had better believe ice cream all need to happen for me. I am even into classic red and white gingham cloths, despite the fact I will, without a doubt, lapse back into monochrome a day later (in New York I bought a slightly green shirt. I'm wild). But as a born and raised Virginian, one thing I know for certain is that the weather in summer is unpredictable. It could be thunderstorms or horribly humid. Or it could be perfect. You just don't know. But that's why an indoor picnic is never a bad back up idea. This Food Network piece we did is how you can upgrade your indoor picnic from salad in jars to oven fried chicken and deviled eggs that are easier to store and transport to the living room floor.
Oh... and yes. These are THOSE deviled eggs.
