Food Network Feature: Edible Party Favor Ideas

Raise your hand if you have ever been felt a little guilty about throwing away a party or wedding favor. There's a little part of you that feels like a jerk because, first of all, it's the thought that counts and second of all, it's not about you. But to be totally honest, I don't like 'things' accruing in my house that make their way in unintentionally to build clutter. I will almost always refuse promo SWAG or anything like that because you would not believe how quickly you find yourself with 13 rubber spatulas with branding on them. An entire drawer becomes a rubber spatula drawer. It has a town hall and a school and I saw them building a library in that drawer last week so... it's getting out of hand.

So how could you do your part to think of a party or wedding favor that's thoughtful, themed and useful? How about by making it edible? For Food Network we came up with several concepts that would fit the 'favor' needs of many, from local honey to flavored olive oil or even cookies in the shape of your home town! Probably one of my personal favorite recent wedding favors was by my friend Katie who home made limoncello for all of her guests. That's thoughtful. That's delicious. And you had better believe that was gone sometime after 9 PM at the wedding.
