YAHS EFFICIENCY QUEEN!

If there's a constant theme in my life it's 'how can I do X better with more focus and less X?'. Running a business means you're working a lot. Pretty much always (although we're striving for balance...it takes practice to not walk over to your computer and feel like "TODAY I MUST REBRAND AND CREATE A NEW PRODUCT" on, I dunno...Saturday at 7 AM.). So all things considered, any time where we can inject a little life hack/or efficiency boost is welcome. Enter: one stop shopping for a smoothie and you'll never guess where: CVS!

Kura, one of my favorite companies/clients ever has been getting into TONS of new retail spaces this year but the most recent is that Kura will be in over 3000+ CVS stores! And you're about to be very surprised what you can find in a CVS for a quick one stop shopping trip to blend a smoothie.

So before I dive into the goodies I was shocked to find at CVS, I want to talk a little bit more about Kura from an insider perspective.

Kura is a protein powder and smoothie starter. But they're so much more than that. Being a dietitian involved in social media, you would be shocked how many protein powders I've been sent and tried over the years. And I've hated basically all of them. I am not a stevia person and that aftertaste bothers me significantly. I also hate the typical chalky taste, the absolute trash packaging and the fact that so many protein products are aimed at females trying to lose weight or males trying to gain muscle. How about for the regular, average person? Because I'm not trying to do either of those things. My first interaction with Kura, before I became their dietitian was as a raving fan. A customer who really liked the product. And here we are a year later and I get to spew my love for Kura on the radio, in videos and in person.

So beyond the packaging (remember who I'm married to?), the taste of Kura alone would keep me coming back. But there's more. SO much more.  Perhaps the biggest thing of note is the probiotics and prebiotics. Guys, I've recently been obsessed with research on the microbiome. Your external microbiome and how that affects acne, oil and more. But also the internal one: your digestive health and how much that plays a role beyond digestion. Your mood. Your weight. Your immune system. And I'm not the only one. The White House announced back in May the multi-million dollar National Microbiome Initiative project that will focus research to this important area. To flash back to right now, the bottom line as you're skimming from your phone...probiotics and the prebiotics that help them thrive are really, really important. And the fact that Kura found that important too is something I love.

In each serving of Kura you're also getting 14 grams of protein, 26 vitamins and minerals and over 90% of your RDA for vitamins A, C, D and E as wells several B vitamins.

Anyway, lest this blog be enormous, I have lots more to talk about if you have questions about Kura or protein in general. Or you want to nerd out with me about probiotics. BUT, for the purposes of this blog, let's get back to one stop shopping and rejoice over shopping simplicity.

All of this is from CVS. I KNOW. And this is one of like five smoothies I had in my head as I walked around. The Kura protein powder is in the supplement aisle with the vitamins and other protein powders. For the frozen spinach and mango orange juice I went to the refrigerated section. Meanwhile the coconut oil and chia seeds were pretty close to the Kura. Bananas were in a fresh snack to go section near the front.

So let's say you don't have a blender in your hotel or at home. Here's a way you can do a smoothie in a shaker bottle.
