Our October menu was about apples and potatoes. The apple orchards here in Virginia were loaded, and nothing makes me happier than picking up a big batch to store in the fridge work with through the season. Apples went into the apple cider slushee cocktail and the potato apple soup. For potatoes, we find them extra versatile and comforting in fall. Potatoes are amazing since they can take so many structural shapes, depending on how you work with them. This month, they went into a soup but also became a super sexy and fancy scalloped potato stack.
