How to Clean Out Your Fridge Pre-Holiday or Party
How to Clean Out Your Fridge Pre-Holiday or Party
Before the winter holidays, this piece I wrote for Inspired Home on how to clean out your fridge pre-holiday party season went live. And just about that time my body HAD ENOUGH and decided I was going to be sick for a solid week during Christmas. I don’t get sick. But I was so knocked out I wasn’t even hungry. WHO AM I?!
But eventually I resurfaced (and caught up on eating all the food I wanted to eat during Christmas, because that’s what’s important). And I think it’s always a good idea to do a bit of a fridge clear out be it pre or post holiday. A Japanese friend of mine actually told me about the tradition of a good clean out on New Years in her culture and that’s always stuck with me. Personally, the more I’m stacking or shoving or finding forgotten produce (who knew lettuce would go liquid so quickly??) the more annoyed I get. I’ll take a New Year clean out.
The initial clear out is not fun. Especially if you’ve been neglecting it. But a quick upkeep wipe will make your fridge a much cleaner, more usable space. And give you more room for leftover cake and other delicious items that make their way into your life.
Do it in five steps here.
