Happy June! To celebrate the start of my birthday month (25! Woo hoo!), I wanted to share some of my favorite things from this weekend. Saturday and Sunday were productive yet relaxing. I pickled the mounds of asparagus to savor our CSA into winter. The husband and I completely went through our storage room and finally put down our cowhide rug in the living room and took up our black one that was weighing down the room. He built me a bigger photo table in my office and we edited down the furniture we had been storing since college. If only it were another 3 day weekend!

This picture is a two fold love. First, I have to keep telling you all how much I am loving my Canon Mark ii! Some days when I don't have a particular recipe to shoot, I set up random things to play with and style. Eggs are notoriously difficult. The camera hates to shoot super flat surfaces with minimal texture. Even though I photograph recipes several times a week, sometimes it's good to challenge myself.  Part two of the egg photographs is the eggs themselves! This year when we renewed our CSA (community supported agriculture subscription) we added on a half share of eggs as well. I can never go back to regular eggs! The shells are nice and thick, the yolks gorgeous, and the taste egg-cellent (wah wah).

During summer when I'm working in my home office I have become obsessed with t-shirt dresses! This one is the one I ordered with the husbands wardrobe streamline from UNIQLO. For under $10 it's very soft and a nice fit (v-neck!) for my body. If you're thinking about ordering and are unsure about the sizing, I am usually a 0/S in American sizing and the XS in UNIQLO for dresses fits the same. Although as a side note, if you are, um, more well endowed, think about a S. If I order more, I'll likely move up to S.

And the Jack Purcell's! I am not a sneaker girl. At all. EVER. But I love these classics and have been throwing them on with J. Crew chino shorts for casual days out for errands or the farmers market. They're such a fun change for me.

This just goes to show good things come in small packages. The little plant is one of our favorite house plants. It lives through anything and has a nice architectural feel. I think I bought it at Home Depot for like $3! I stuck him in a brass bowl from the grandparents to jazz it up.

Essie nail polish is amazing and has some of the best colors I've ever seen. To celebrate 25 in style, the husband picked up Essie's Good As Gold and it looks amazing on! It is truly metallic and fun! This color is my current pedicure of choice.

I try to keep my magazine subscriptions to a minimum. The husband has Dwell. I have Cherry Bombe, Martha Stewart Living and now Saveur. Saveur's writing is so wonderful. I read every article and constantly book mark to look up more information.

Enjoy the first week of June!
